Floating Roof

This video is a brief explanation of a “floating roof”

This is quite common throughout the industry with only a handful of manufacturers choosing to use a single piece fibreglass insert instead of this product

The problem with this type of roof is the movement when the sheeting expands and contracts

This causes pooling on the roof which in turn leads to failure of the sealant.

Also the sheeting is installed from side to side,,,this allows for expansion and contraction but again puts immense pressure on the sealant where it joins the sheeting

Add to this hatches ,vents and more recently solar panels which again are reliant on sealants to keep the van roof watertight

We improve this by reinforcing the seams and coating the entire roof with our flexible waterproofing membrane.
